Some facts about Ipe wood
Ipe is one of the most durable and dense hardwoods on the planet. Naturally
resistant to fire (rated “Class A” by the NFPA and “Class 1” by the UBC). Ipe
has proven durability and has been used for North American markets for over
50 years. Surpassing any cedar, redwood or CCA presure treated material.
The densely grained durable Ipe has not been treated with any potentially
harmful impregnating agents such as CCA. The environmentally friendly tiles
are only treated with an oil finish to provide sun protection. Ipe Decking Tiles
are resistant to moisture, heat and frost.
Nature is our main concern, that is why all the lumber that is processed
comes from certified forests, and the manufacturer complies with the Bolivian
government's Sustainable Forestry Development Program which is currently
one of the best in the world.
